He began his career as a radio broadcaster at CJBQ Belleville, the CKWX in Vancouver, then back to Belleville and finally with Hayhurst Advertising in Toronto, where he produced various radio and television commercials until he retired in 1982. Selling their home in Agincourt they moved to their renovated and winterized cottage on the Gull River in Norland.
