John Wycliffe Lowes Forster was an artist and wrote a book about his work. In this excerpt he talks about William Gooderham and his son William Jr. as well as his son James and the friendships between the two families. He refers to two portraits he did, one of William and one of his son William Jr. which is in the Victoria College Archives. In addition, the Distillery Heritage website refers to another Forster portrait of William's grandson, William George Gooderham which can be found in the Toronto-Dominion Bank Archives.
